The Lenovo Smart Band HW01 looks like every other smart band with a silicon strap and sports a 0.91-inch OLED panel. The display is capable of showing various alerts including steps, calories, notifications, distance, and more. There’s a dynamic heart rate scanner available as well that can track your vitals every 15 minutes. Furthermore, the band will even notify you when your heart rate reaches a designated threshold or wake you up through the anti-sleep mode that Lenovo says “alerts you of concentration loss or dozing while driving or working at night”....

2016 saw the launch of two very powerful smartphones, the OnePlus 3T and the Moto Z with Mods. While 2016 saw the launch, 2017 is witnessing their ads. OnePlus recently released an ad for the OnePlus 3T titled, “Who do you love?” On the other hand, Moto also released an ad for Moto Z titled, “Always running out of juice? That does not seem to have disheartened Meizu CEO Jack Wong, however. He has claimed that the crowdfunding was only for research purposes and not for mass production. He has also evidently referred to the Indiegogo campaign as a “marketing stunt” on Weibo. All of which would come as a surprise to many who had hailed the device as a glimpse of the future. The Meizu Zero indeed had brought a lot of crazy high-tech to the table, claiming to use a ceramic unibody that was IP68 dustproof and waterproof and had no openings whatsoever – the sound came from the display, the fingerprint scanner was under the display, there were pressure sensitive buttons on the side for volume and other functions, eSIM card support, and wireless charging....

But even by his standards, January 9, 2007, was a masterpiece. I would tend to agree with Walt Mossberg – it was perhaps Jobs’ best presentation ever. In many ways, the presentation – or the iPhone part of it anyway – was a more refined version of Apple’s epic launches of the early to mid-eighties. Nokia 5.3: The specs are kinda sorta modest The first smartphone from Nokia in India since the pandemic broke out, the Nokia 5.3 seems to be rather modestly specced for the price it commands. No, we are not writing off its spec sheet altogether, but a 6.53-inch HD+ (not full HD+) display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip (which is more than a year old now), 4 GB and 6 GB RAM options with 64 GB onboard storage, a 4000 mAh battery with a 10W charger and a quad-camera arrangement with a modest megapixel count (13 + 5 ultrawide + 2 depth + 2 macro) as well as an 8-megapixel selfie snapper – well, these are well below that the competition is delivering at this (and in some cases, at an even lower) price....

Of course, its biggest appeal is its price – at Rs 9,999 for the 4 GB/ 64 GB variant (there’s also a 6 GB/ 128 GB one for Rs 12,999), the Note 8 offers staggering value for money and is priced almost a third lesser than its pro counterpart. With a lower price, however, come some compromises and the big question is just how many corners does the device cut?...
