To avoid any confusion, the new foldable PC is essentially a full-fledged laptop with a foldable screen, so it should not be confused with something like a phone, tablet, or hybrid. The introduction of this new concept of PC comes from the company taking into consideration the inconvenience caused by carrying a full-fledged powerful PC along while traveling. It also shed light on some interesting statistics, which show that the remote work has increased by 140 percent from the year 2008 to 2016. And with more people following the trend, it wants to offer these people a powerful, yet portable full-fledged PC. Coming to specifications, the foldable PC comes with a single 2K OLED panel from LG Display, that according to the company can fold in half and reduce its width by 50 per cent. It says that the PC is powered by Intel with Windows running on top, and can be used in different ways:
Wake up, fold it into a book, and start the day scanning your social media feeds in bed. Walk to your kitchen, unfold it, and stand it up for hands-free viewing of your top news sites. Hit your commute on the bus or train and morph it into a clamshell to catch up on emails. Get into the office, dock it into your multi-monitor setup and get to work. Go into meetings, take notes with its pen, and write on a full-screen tablet. After lunch, set up the stand and use its mechanical keyboard to type out a few work emails. Come home at night, open it up and stream your favourite shows. Relax in bed, fold it in half and enjoy your latest read before going to sleep.
