Huawei MatePad Pro: Design and Display
The MatePad Pro features a 10.8-inch AMOLED panel on the front with 2560 x 1600 pixels screen resolution, 90% screen to body ratio, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. In terms of its size and weight, the tablet measures at 159 x 245 x 7.2mm with 4.9mm thickness and 460 grams of weight. It comes in three color options: White, Black, Green, and Orange.
Huawei MatePad Pro: Performance
Under the hood, the MatePad Pro packs in the company’s latest Kirin 990 processor with Mali G76 GPU, coupled with 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of internal storage. It includes a 7250mAh battery to power the entire thing, with support for 40W Huawei SuperCharge, 15W wireless charging. Also, similar to some top-of-the-line devices in the market these days, the MatePad Pro provides support for 7.5W reverse wireless charging, which can be used to wirelessly charge other devices using the tablet. On the software front, the tablet comes with EMUI 10 based on Android 10. However, due to the recent fiasco between Huawei and the US-government, the device misses out on the entire Google Mobile Services suite, leaving some of the most popular and commonly used Google apps unsupported.
Huawei MatePad Pro: Camera
As already mentioned, the MatePad Pro comes with a hole-punch display, which houses an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. Similarly, towards its back, the tablet has a 13MP rear camera.
Huawei MatePad Pro: Pricing and Availability
The Huawei MatePad Pro comes in two variants: WiFi and LTE. The WiFi variant comes in one configuration: 6GB + 128GB, priced at 3299 CNY (~ 469 USD). On the other hand, the LTE variant offers two configurations: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB, priced at 3799 CNY (~ 540 USD) and 4499 CNY (~ 639 USD) respectively. The device is currently available for pre-order and is expected to go on sale starting December 12. As of now, there is no word from the company on its availability in the global markets.
