Fast Search from developer Point Blank is one such app, and what makes it stand out is that it’s very, very easy to use and brings out the files you were looking for in a jiffy. I’ve installed it and gave it a try and I’m very pleased with its performance, especially given the fact that we’re talking about a free title. The app lets you search all file types, search by file name or search by file extension. The results are threaded so you don’t have to wait till the search finishes, which is pretty fast, by the way. You can also get thumbnails for pictures and movies and you can open the folder location, as well, if you have a file manager app installed. Once you have found your file, you can then open it, send it or share it, delete or rename it. There are plenty of file types that you can search for, such as .txt, .java, .js, .doc, .docx, .odt, .pdf, .torrent and many others. You can also search in specific folders and by date, which is useful if you know when you have received or created a certain file. You can also search by the file size, too, which further allows to refine your search settings.
