To begin with, Cool1 Dual features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS panel with 450 nits brightness and a metallic unibody which looks inspired from the current LeEco Le 2 through some angles. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 Octa-Core processor (4 cores clocked at 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72 + 4 cores at 1.2GHz A53), 3/4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, Adreno 510 GPU, 32GB / 64GB (eMMC5.1) internal storage without the support for a MicroSD card and a 4060 mAh battery pack underneath with fast charging. Moreover, it runs on LeEco’s EUI 5.6 layered on top of Android Marshmallow. Now coming to the camera arrangement, it offers dual 13MP f/2.0 lens for creating realistic bokeh effects, dual-tone LED flash, 4K video recording, and an 8MP f/2.2 80-degree wide-angle lens up front. Additionally, there’s a fingerprint scanner on the back, dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n (2.4/5GHz) and a USB Type-C port on the bottom. Unlike the Le2, Cool1 comes with a dedicated 3.5mm audio jack.

Cool1 will be available in three color variants including Gold, Silver and Rose Gold at a starting price of 1099 yuan (US$ 166/Rs 11,080 approx.) 3GB RAM/32GB storage, 1499 yuan (US$ 226/Rs 15,125 approx.) for the 4GB RAM/32GB storage version and 1699 yuan (US$ 256/ Rs 17,135 approx.) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant. It will go on sale from August 24th on Coolpad’s website, LeMall, and JD.com. Currently, there’s no word on global availability, however, given the significance of India’s smartphone market, it is possible that this phone won’t take long to arrive. Overall, the handset definitely looks promising, although it features nothing spectacular for the price other than the dual-camera setup.
