Asus follows the cues from its Asian counterparts like Sony, HTC and Micromax in launching a smartphone with 13MP front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and 88-degree wide angle lens for group selfies. Interestingly, Asus has gone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 SoC instead of Intel Atom, as was the case with all of its ZenFone series till now. The rear also has a 13MP camera along with dual LED flash and laser auto-focus. Looks wis, the phone is similar to the ZenFone 2. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p LCD display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top, and the same curved back with volume rockers. The ZenFone Selfie will be taking on the likes of HTC Desire Eye, Sony Xperia C4 and Micromax Canvas Selfie with dual 13MP cameras. Although it isn’t mentioned, we assume that the front camera has auto-focus considering the stress on selfies, and we also see LED flash on front much like HTC Desire Eye. We expect the ZenFone Selfie to be running on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI on top of it, and 4G LTE support as well. Rest of the details are awaited. Stay tuned for more details.
