The Lenovo Smart Band HW01 looks like every other smart band with a silicon strap and sports a 0.91-inch OLED panel. 2016 saw the launch of two very powerful smartphones, the OnePlus 3T and the Moto Z with Mods. While 2016 saw the launch, 2017 is witnessing their ads. That does not seem to have disheartened Meizu CEO Jack Wong, however. He has claimed that the crowdfunding was only for research purposes and not for mass production. But even by his standards, January 9, 2007, was a masterpiece. I would tend to agree with Walt Mossberg – it was perhaps Jobs’ best presentation ever. Nokia 5.3: The specs are kinda sorta modest The first smartphone from Nokia in India since the pandemic broke out, the Nokia 5.3 seems to be rather modestly specced for the price it commands. No, we are not writing off its spec sheet altogether, but a 6.53-inch HD+ (not full HD+) display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip (which is more than a year old now), 4 GB and 6 GB RAM options with 64 GB onboard storage, a 4000 mAh battery with a 10W charger and a quad-camera arrangement with a modest megapixel count (13 + 5 ultrawide + 2 depth + 2 macro) as well as an 8-megapixel selfie snapper – well, these are well below that the competition is delivering at this (and in some cases, at an even lower) price....

Of course, its biggest appeal is its price – at Rs 9,999 for the 4 GB/ 64 GB variant (there’s also a 6 GB/ 128 GB one for Rs 12,999), the Note 8 offers staggering value for money and is priced almost a third lesser than its pro counterpart. With a lower price, however, come some compromises and the big question is just how many corners does the device cut?...
